Strategic Comments

This article discusses the economic shocks induced by the COVID-19 pandemic in five non-oil exporters in the Arab States region, namely Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia. The article studies the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global energy and food markets and how those disruptions were manifested in these countries.
