This article studies the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the sociodemographic and clinical profiles of patients who were admitted to a tertiary psychiatric hospital in the UAE during 2020 compared with the corresponding period in 2019 and evaluates the effect of the pandemic on the mental healthcare system.
