This article reconstructs the initial transmission of COVID-19 in 54 African countries (including Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan, and Tunisia) using a deterministic mathematical model accounting for under-reporting and various levels of severity of infections.
